Who edited your life? How to rewrite the book of your life.

Recently, I was listening to a podcast with Dr. Cindy Trimm who was being interviewed by the Host of the Programme ‘Dear future wifey’. In this podcast, Dr. Trimm said that many of our lives are edited by the words people speak into us. This was a quite interesting way of viewing things but I could not help but agree; after all, God spoke things into being.

Have you ever really considered how words write your life? Words you spoke or are speaking and the words others would have spoken over you?

So, now I ask you the question: “who edited your life?”

Are you close-lipped about your life? What do I mean? I mean, are you refusing to speak out the things you hope for and desire? If you are not daily affirming by your words that which you dream, hope and aspire for, then, someone else may be doing it for you and perhaps not in a positive way. Whoever speaks into your life, edits it.

According to the online Cambridge dictionary, to edit means to make changes to a text or film, deciding what will be removed and what will be kept in, in order to prepare it for being printed or shown.

Words edit your life and experiences can also edit your life. All through our lives, even before we were born, people were editing our lives with their words. When a woman is pregnant and someone says, ‘that baby will be a blessing’ or that baby is a bastard, they were editing the baby’s life. Whatever people speak into you, they are fashioning your life.

So, how do you control your own life? Stop allowing people to edit your life. You know your desires, you know your dreams. People told some of you that you will never become anything great, you are good for nothing, etc. Your subconscious mind stores those words and then your life begins to look like those words. How do you change that? You change your life’s course by replacing the false words which were spoken with the true words which God said of you. You can do this through daily affirmations. And trust me, while you say these affirmations, some of the wrong thoughts will pop up to convince you that that which you are saying is false. Let me give an example: let’s say your bank account has $0 and you are saying “money comes to me in increasing quantities and I am rich”, your mind will say “what are you talking about? You broke like el broko (not Spanish, just being humourous). But how do you deal with that reality thought popping up? You can be aware of it but keep speaking your future. Eventually, your subconscious mind will get the message and begin to align with what you are saying.

Even write the affirmations and put them on the walls of your house or in your room if you want more privacy. You are doing this so you can see it. The mind is fed through the senses: whatever you see, hear, taste, touch or smell enters the mind.

So, from today, rewrite your own life with whatsoever things are lovely, true, praise-worthy and of a good report.
